Hatstand Opera have an enviable reputation for producing top quality, innovative and accessible shows.
Their elegant cabaret style entertains and
amuses with a wicked sense of fun. It’s where the informal, witty banter and sense of the unexpected of cabaret meets the passions and ploys of song. Most extracts are sung in English, including at least two popular 'pot-boilers' and something really unusual for the buffs.
Hatstand Opera are uniquely able to adapt to most venues, from the most traditional proscenium arch theatres to art centres and festival marquees, historic houses and even open air performances.
Choose from these great shows:

Christmas
Crescendo
Ages: from 10 to 80+
An all-singing, cracker-snapping, party-going,
panto-mimic Christmas special that starts
with operatic parties, and all the goings
on that a little Christmas spirit liberates!
The champagne flows, and romance is in
the air....
Then, a celebration of the true meaning of
Christmas, with song and oratorio, from the
familiar such as Handel's Messiah to
charming songs by composers
such as Michael Head.
The second half opens with a panto theme (oh yes it does!), opera-style, with elegant princes, ugly
sisters and ruthless pirates... and finally, a rousing singing finale of songs; carols, part songs and the just
plain silly songs that the season seems to invoke.
“A mix of classical
cabaret and stand-up
- Lovely … a great
success.”
