Nigel and James, are seasoned presenters and natural performers, each coming from different sides of the herbaceous border. James is an award winning designer and part time dissenter; Nigel is a respected horticulturist, author, journalist and Royal Horticultural Society Judge. Together they draw upon years of experience, not just in gardening, but in broadcasting, speaking and garden writing.
If you thought gardening was a tame pastime for the middle-aged, think again! James and Nigel, as well as helping to solve its most perplexing mysteries, will unearth horticulture’s sweetest delights and might even reveal its naughtiest secrets.
With their unique, idiosyncratic and irreverent style, they will take you on an amiable meander through all the key aspects of gardening from initial design right through to the ultimate fine-tuning and titivation after planting.
Using high quality images, demonstrations – where appropriate – and a lot of audience participation, they will show how best to put together the garden that will most suit you.
During each performance they will:
- come up with creative planting ideas to make your neighbours green with envy
- show how to transform problem areas into glimpses of paradise
- give tips on how to avoid the worst booby traps that nature lays out for gardeners. (They should know – they’ve made enough prat-falls to fill several books!)
- find on the spot solutions for audience members during the course of the show
- share two lifetime experiences of the joys and vicissitudes of being gardeners
After one of their shows, gardening audiences will leave the theatre enlightened and inspired. Meanwhile, their non-green-fingered partners will not only have been thoroughly entertained but may even see the wonderful world of horticulture in an entirely new light.
Think Two Fat Ladies but change the shape of the presenters, broaden the information, pump up the inspiration, double the fun and you have James and Nigel’s show in a nutshell. Gardeners’ Question Time
it certainly is not!
