Sam McKaylin

Science Speaker, Geneticist, Evolutionary Biologist, Presenter

Speaker and science presenter Sam McKaylin is one of a new generation of evolutionary biologists working on cutting edge science. He is researching new treatments for cancer with the use of machine learning and AI.

Sam speaks widely at venues and science festivals such as the Cambridge and Kew Science Festivals and he teaches at universities around the country. His teaches about machine learning, how to tell stories using digital media, and what makes the world around us quite so wonderful.

Alongside his work as a scientist Sam has worked at RBG Kew where he searched for stories to tell in their almost 200 year old Herbarium and he ran one of the UKs most popular Dungeons and Dragons podcasts. He’s a well known face in the UK Dungeons and Dragons scene and was a regular cast member with Roll Together RPG.

Sam is regularly featured on the podcast circuit. He is one of the faces of Get Set Galactic (CBeebies), a high energy science gameshow for 5-8 year olds.
