Sir Karl Jenkins in conversation
with John Suchet OBE
Featuring stunning video extracts from Karl Jenkins’ concerts
An evening in the company of the most performed living composer in the world. Sir Karl Jenkins’ musical career began as keyboard player with the jazz-rock band Soft Machine. A commission to compose music for a TV ad led to a worldwide hit, Adiemus. His later composition The Armed Man, a Mass for Peace, soon became the best loved of all his compositions. To date it has been performed more than 3000 times around the world.
A Requiem followed, also Cantata Memoria for the children of Aberfan, and Palladio, sealing Karl’s reputation as the best loved of any living composer.
With video accompaniment of Karl conducting all these compositions and more, Karl is in conversation with former TV journalist John Suchet, Classic FM presenter and author of In Search of Beethoven – A Personal Journey, looking back on a unique musical career.
